This article is written for qualified researchers. It does not constitute medical advice, and nothing here is guidance for human or veterinary use of any compound.

One small fragment of a much bigger protein

Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell in the body, present in especially high concentrations in wound fluid and platelets. Its job, as far as researchers understand it, is traffic control: it binds actin, the structural protein cells use to move, and in doing so regulates how cells migrate to where they are needed. TB-500 is a laboratory-made peptide corresponding to the fragment of Thymosin Beta-4 that carries that actin-binding activity — the short sequence LKKTETQ and its surrounding region.

The research themes

Cell migration and repair models. The core literature studies TB-500 in models where getting cells to a site quickly is the bottleneck: skin wounds, corneal injuries, and cardiac tissue after ischemic damage. Researchers measure migration speed, new tissue formation, and scar characteristics against untreated controls.

Inflammation modulation. A second line of work examines how the fragment interacts with inflammatory signaling in injured tissue, and whether the repair process proceeds differently when that signaling is altered.

Hair and skin models. Thymosin Beta-4's role in dermal cell movement has led to studies in skin and follicle models, which is part of why TB-500 appears in dermatology-adjacent research catalogs alongside GHK-Cu.

Why it is so often studied with BPC-157

The pairing is not marketing; it follows from the mechanisms. BPC-157 is studied mainly around growth signaling and new blood-vessel formation. TB-500 is studied around the movement of the cells that do the building. A study design that cares about the whole repair sequence has reasons to look at both, which is why our Recovery Stack combines them in one strip and the Complete Recovery Stack adds GHK-Cu as the third leg.

Format and handling

We stock TB-500 as an oral strip, 0.5 mg per strip, 30 strips per box. The dry format keeps the peptide stable at room conditions in its sealed pouch and removes reconstitution from the protocol entirely — each administration in a study uses an identical, factory-measured amount. As with everything in the catalog, it is a research chemical, sold for laboratory use only; the literature summarized here is preclinical and describes model systems, not people.
